Aim and Scope
Circuits and Embedded Systems aims to advance the design, analysis, implementation, and evaluation of circuits and embedded technologies.
The journal encourages research that addresses performance, energy efficiency, reliability, security, and real-time operation. Particular emphasis is placed on contributions that connect hardware and software design decisions with measurable system outcomes and reproducible evaluation.
The journal welcomes contributions in the following areas:
• Analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Integrated circuits, VLSI architectures, and system-on-chip design.
• FPGA-based systems and reconfigurable computing.
• Microcontrollers, microprocessors, and embedded architectures.
• Embedded software, firmware, and real-time operating systems.
• Hardware–software co-design and design automation.
• Embedded artificial intelligence, TinyML, and edge computing.
• Digital signal processing circuits and hardware accelerators.
• Sensors, instrumentation, data acquisition, and interface circuits.
• Internet of Things devices, wireless sensor nodes, and embedded communications.
• Low-power design, energy management, and energy harvesting interfaces.
• Hardware security, secure firmware, and trusted embedded systems.
• Verification, testing, fault diagnosis, and dependable system design.
• Embedded control, robotics, automotive systems, and industrial applications.
• Biomedical circuits, wearable devices, and application-specific embedded systems.
Application-oriented studies should demonstrate a clear contribution to circuit design or embedded system development. Purely software-based studies without a substantive connection to embedded hardware, resource constraints, or hardware–software interaction fall outside the journal’s scope.
